About HyrePlumber

HyrePlumber is an independent information site for homeowners dealing with plumbing. We explain leaks, drains, water heaters, pipe materials and quotes from named, dated sources. We do no plumbing work. Matching with plumbers is not live yet, and no plumbing companies are signed up.

Who writes it. The HyrePlumber Research Desk. There are no named authors and no reviews, and no company can pay to shape or place anything we publish.

Why does HyrePlumber exist?

A plumbing quote is written in words few homeowners use day to day: cleanout, PEX, trap arm, pressure test, relief valve. When a plumber explains them, the explanation comes standing in your basement with a price attached.

Much of what decides whether a repair lasts ends up behind a wall or under a slab: the pipe material, the fittings, the pressure test, the patching. Two quotes can look alike and cover different work. We write so you can compare them on the same scope.

What does HyrePlumber publish?

What does HyrePlumber not do?

  • No plumbing work. We do not repair, install, inspect or clear anything, and we do not supervise, warrant or finance anyone who does.
  • No dispatch. Nobody is sent from this site, at any hour. Sending a form is not a service call.
  • No directory. We publish no company profiles, ratings or rankings, because none would be fair today.
  • No diagnosis. No page or tool can tell you where your leak is or why your drain backs up. That takes someone in the house.
  • No gas emergencies. If you smell gas, leave the building, then call 911 and your gas utility from outside.
  • No selling your details. No plumbing company gets them unless you agree.

How does HyrePlumber expect to be paid?

We expect to earn money by introducing homeowners to plumbing companies. You are never charged. When that is live, this page will say so. It will not change what we say about diagnosis, permits, pipe materials or the terms of a quote.

Where this stands today. No company has paid for placement on this site, and no referral deal has shaped a single sentence. Matching is not live, and no plumbing companies are signed up.

What standard are the pages written to?

  1. Primary sources first. Water, energy and safety figures come from EPA WaterSense, the CPSC, the CDC, the USGS and the federal water heater rules, linked on the page.
  2. Dated, not evergreen. Time-sensitive facts carry the date we checked them, because codes, efficiency rules and utility programs change.
  3. No invented numbers. We publish no national average plumbing price. Our cost tools multiply the rate on your own quote.
  4. Gaps stay visible. What we could not verify is labeled unverified, on the page.
  5. No invented people. No made-up authors, credentials, stock-photo experts or testimonials.

The full rules are in our editorial policy.

What have we not verified?

  • Plumbing licenses. We confirm none with a state or local board. Choosing a plumber shows how to check one yourself.
  • Insurance certificates. We check none with any carrier. Ask for a certificate issued to you directly by the insurer.
  • Model code text. The IPC and UPC are paid standards, and our retrieval of the public reading rooms returned summaries, not code text. We quote no code clause.
  • Your local rules. Permit triggers and the code edition in force are set by the city or county that inspects the work. Ask your building department.

Network

hyreplumber.com is one of the HYRE sites. Each covers one field, and none of them does the work it writes about.

How do I report a mistake?

Email hello@hyreplumber.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. We give facts a source and a date so that they can be checked. If a source has moved, a rule has changed or a sentence overstates its source, we fix it and say that we did.

The contact page lists every way to reach us. If water is running and you cannot stop it, go to plumbing emergencies instead of writing to us. If you run a plumbing business, read the page for plumbers.

Questions people ask

Is HyrePlumber a plumbing company?
No. We repair, install and inspect no plumbing, employ no plumbers and hold no plumbing license. HyrePlumber publishes independent information about plumbing problems and quotes. We are building a way to connect homeowners with local plumbers, but that is not live yet.
Who writes HyrePlumber?
The HyrePlumber Research Desk. We do not invent author personas or credentials, and we put no photo on a person who does not exist. Where a claim rests on a source, we name the source and the date we checked it, so you can check it too.
How does HyrePlumber make money?
We expect to be paid by plumbing companies for introducing homeowners who asked to be introduced. You are never charged. That is not live yet, and no company has paid for anything on this site. The money will not change what we say about diagnosis, permits, pipe materials or quotes.
Why is there no average plumbing price on this site?
Because we hold no dataset of plumbing invoices, and access, diagnosis, permits, the pricing model and the hour you call all move the price of the same repair. Our calculators multiply the rate from your own quote instead. Where a page quotes a figure, it names the source and the date.
Why do you not rank plumbers?
Because we have not done the work that would make a ranking fair. A directory listing is not evidence. How plumbing companies will be checked lists the checks we plan and says which are not built yet.
Do I have to give my details to use the site?
No. Every guide and calculator is open, and none of them asks for an email address. The form is only there for people who want help finding a plumber.
