Tank vs tankless, on your two bills

Payback is extra installed cost divided by annual energy saving. We do not ship a UEF table, because a national energy-saving percentage would be a sales number. Type last year’s energy for the tank you have, and the proposed tankless energy from the proposal or an audit.

Does a tankless water heater pay for itself?
Only if annual energy saving is real and the extra installed cost is not eaten by venting, gas-line and water-treatment work. Type both sides. A catalogue UEF gap is not your bill.
Why don’t you put in a default saving?
Because we will not invent one. Fuel, climate, incoming water temperature and how you actually use hot water move it.
